Listening to: November Steps – Toru Takemitsu
Thus, the month of November ends. I arrived last night to an empty apartment and a mostly empty campus, and spent a good amount of time thinking wildly pretentious philosophical thoughts about the nature of solitude. I’ve been simultaneously working on several end-of-semester assignments, and occasionally when the music I’ve been playing cuts out I realize that the only sound I can hear is the ticking of my pocket-watch from the lampstand. Considering how bustling my apartment normally is, having the entire place to myself is more than a little jarring.
I’ve reached a place in my NaNoWriMo that I’m satisfied with: one could call it the end of one story arc and the beginning of another. Starting this Wednesday, I’ll be posting snippets of my writing in the middle of every week, and return to my normal geeky style of blogging on Sundays. This serializing will put me up there in the proud ranks of other serial writers whose last names start with D. Like Doyle, and Dumas.
Now, the moment you’ve all been waiting for! Featuring banter, vaguely accurate geology, more banter, and more exposition than you could shake a stick at, I give you “The Knights’ Tale,” part four!
